So we can't change the fact we have BPD and we can't even really minimize the symptoms (hope they create a pill soon for this!), but I find distraction a great way of coping. What sort of things do you do to make you happy and help you get through the day? Here's my list of stuff that makes me happy and makes it all easier to cope with:

Making jewellery
Watching a really funny tv show
Lying in bed reading a great book while listening to a rain CD
A really good cup of coffee or tea
Hearing my little girl say something funny
Kisses from my baby girl
Getting a massage from my husband
Painting my nails
Putting on make up and dressing up nicely
The smell of a new jumper/top
Burying my face in my boy cats soft fur while he purrs his nut off
Cuddling up to my cat at night while drifting off to sleep (he's more snuggly than my husband LOL)
Going for a long walk in the fresh air on a warm day
Op shopping in second hand stores
Finishing the housework and finally sitting down with a coffee and an episode of Dr Phil
When my husband suddenly kisses me/hugs me for no reason
Remembering that one of my favourite tv shows is on later that night!
Colouring my hair and actually liking how it turns out
Getting lost in a really great book and feeling as if I am right there in the story with the characters
Having a stranger smile at me/having a nice conversation with a stranger
Seeing a cute dog/cat/baby in the street
Singing songs I love in the car and not caring who sees/hears me
Hearing the heavy rain pour down on the roof while I'm all warm and snuggly inside my house
Looking at funny photos on the internet and laughing my butt off
Reading a trashy celebrity gossip magazine or a fitness magazine

That's all I can think of for now but I'm sure there's heaps more

* People with Borderline Personality Disorder are like people with third degree burns over 90% of their body - Lacking emotional skin, they feel agony at the slightest touch or movement.
