Is there a few common causes or all sorts of things?
Also, does anyone here have a fetish which they think they might be able to explain why they have it? Not just what you enjoy about it, but if you think you have some kind of psychological insight in to why you enjoy it but others don't?
I'm also curious if you think specific causes might affect what age a fetish starts and the severity?

in general a "fetish" is anything a set culture finds goes against what they feel is normal sexual activity. example here adult consensual spanking before during or after sexual activity is considered a fetish because here hitting someone is not considered a sexual activity. its considered child abuse and domestic violence. but this state does recognize some people do enjoy getting hit to various severities during intimate relations so this state now recognizes "consensual spanking" under sexual fetishes. so now when we go to court on a domestic violence case not only do we have to show the hitting was done out of anger against the victim we also have to show it wasnt done during intimate relations and whether our clients engaged in the fetish "consensual spanking" as a part of their normal sexual activities on a normal basis. and if so how this time differs from any other time.
every location / culture, race, religion and what not has their own acceptable behaviors and "norms" / roles for what they consider normal sexual activity vs fetish's.
