Are straight people only straight because they had a heterosexual experience or trauma before age 12? No.

It's the same with homosexuality, bisexuality, etc. Nothing can turn you that way, it's just who you are. It's not as if everyone is born heterosexual and then something has to happen to "turn them gay," it's just a detail of a person that they're born with.
