I just wanted to congratulate my sister for being picked as a semi-finalist in a poetry competition. Her poem will be published in a book of poetry. I hope she will consider my suggestion of publishing a book of ALL of her poetry. Also, the winner receives a $1,000. I am very proud of her and thought I would post this because she would be too modest so here is the poem that she submitted for the contest: (one of my favorites)

IF I CARED

If I cared I would be there
I would tell it like it is
I would spare no words to say it
I would tell you to forgive.

If I cared I would stay there
I would be there by your side
I would quietly support you
I would hold you while you cried.

If I cared you would know it
I would tell you day and night
I would love you, I would show you
And I know it would be right.

If you cared you would see dear
That I couldn't let you know
Just how much the fear prevented me
from letting my love show.
