It is true what ECHOES said, read my post. I was VERY hesitant and TERRIFIED, but once I laid it all out for the new therapist on how I had a bad experience with a different therapist and now had trouble trusting other therapists, she calmly talked to me and calmed all my fears. I started out in session TERRIFIED of her, but then left very much at ease and so proud of myself for having the courage to go and try out another therapist.
If you ever go to another therapist, it is important, preferable in the first session if you can, to tell them of all your other bad experiences. This can help the therapist to understand your hesitation and work through your bad experiences with you and help you gain your trust in them. Read my thread. I think you will be inspired. I use to feel much the same way. I think the world of my new therapist now, where I used to despise all therapists.
