Hiya Squirrel!
I'm a resident pacer when I'm in the psych wards. I find the staff don't like it because it makes them nervous. It's not that I am, but that they are. I find that for me pacing calms me down, helps me gain clarity and insight and generally soothes me. Having said that, the faster I pace, the more agitated I am. Pacing can be an aggressive act. My feedback would be to pay attention to how you're feeling while you're pacing.
Love and hugs,
Tara
