my daughter who just came home from a three month ocd hospitilization, who got all impacted wisdom teeth removed last friday, still feeling blah, went up to her studio, a room where all of her crafts, art, projects are neatly stored. I found a brand new futon for the built in bed when we were doing it so she has massive amounts of pillows, a few large stuffed animals and a bean bag on there to make it a couch. Well, she went up to work today and apparently my son's girl-friend's kitty peed all over one corner catching the bean bag, two large special stuffed toys, a few lap robes and yes, the futon!!!!!!! I sprayed and sprayed with a citrus product and later with febreeze and now have the heater going so the futon dries. I took the bedding and animals to the laundrymat as they can get the odors out where I can't. Especially the stuffed animals. I told son and girlfriend they would have to pay for the laundry and my son asked me why I didn't do it here? Why, because I have no working dryer for the last week, and why? Because the stuffed animals are too important to mess with.
I just feel bad for the kid. The animals have a lot of history and her space has been invaded. it is beautiful, she chose colors and changes the curtains all of the time and lays out projects in there and leaves them out as she is working on them. We have a very high gate but not high enough for that kitten! We need to keep the door open for heat. I guess I will be devising a screen door next.
It's not that I am trying to protect her from her ocd, it's just that I would be plenty angry if kitty peed on the things that were special to me.
