I take all of my effexor xr (600 mg) in the morning. When I started the med, 6 years ago at 75 mgs, I tried to take it at night but the dreams were wicked!!!

The effexor actually gave me a shot of energy in the morning too...........

Other than the dreams I can't really remember any other problems.....
