I couldn't sleep 3 days straight this past week. Some of the aids to sleep that I found around the net were:
1. Warm bath
2. Drinking a "milky" drink
3. Yoga
4. Relaxation tapes - I have one my grad school prof recommended called
Spectrum Suite by Steven Halpern. That one is 7 notes that are combined in different ways. In the insert Mr. Halpern said the each note represents a different color and a different part of the body. He has also made tapes/CDs called
Inner Peace and
Soundwave 2000
Personally I lay in bed listening to radio talk shows, but they have to be selected carefully or else I wake up in a panic due to all the "stuff" going on in the world.
