I have practiced just noticing when I'm feeling anger, and when it began so that I can pinpoint in me what it is that makes me feel angry. Not being heard or understood is one reason and I can tolerate that because I know that the other person does not have the intention of not hearing or understanding me. I do have the opportunity to talk more, to rephrase my thoughts, and to even say directly that I am angry or frustrated or disappointed or hurt, etc.
