The status updates next to posts and the ones next to PMs seem to be getting put there by entirely different routines. Yes, when a member has entered a status update, the ones next to posts use the format "FooZe is" + [status update] while the ones next to PMs use "FooZe" + [status update]. Also, though, when a member's status update is blank, next to a post it'll say "FooZe has no updates" whereas next to a PM it'll just say "FooZe" with nothing after it.
