I just read your anxiety question part. Anxiety is a component of depression but it can also be a part of an anxiety disorder. Many of the antidepressants now (the SSRIs especially) are used to treat both depression and anxiety and anxiety disorders. Sometimes, I've noticed, that I had anxiety when starting up or increasing an SSRI. Paxil gave me very bad anxiety at first at those times I mentioned. But with time it went away. I think it's important too, to tell your doctor of any side effects so he/she can address them. Sometimes they can adjust the medicine or maybe prescribe something for the anxiety, too. They have for me because I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders.
