It just gets worse here! I believe we've had 18 or 19 days with temperatures above 100 along with extremely high humidity. The humidity is what makes it so brutal along with the fact that we have had maybe two days of rain in the past 4-5 weeks.
It's tough and it's desperately dangerous for people who have to work outside or don't have air-conditioned homes and animals (pets/livestock) that have to stay outdoors. The city has at least two dozen public areas open to the public from 6:00 A.M. till 8:00 P.M. that are air-conditioned, comfortably furnished, have free cold beverages, etc.
This is always the price we pay for our wonderfully enjoyable fall and spring seasons and the mildest winters but each summer seems to be getting hotter and lasting longer.
