I'm glad that you feel supported here on PC, but you need help "in real life" too. Otherwise can be really hard and lonely. : ( Is there anyway that you could see a therapist? I know that there is a lot of information on this site about finding low-cost therapy.
The line between mental health and illness is quite blurred. The definitions of individual diagnoses were decided upon by the committees of psychiatrists who write the DSM. Many people question these boundaries, and ultimately they are just human arbitration.
I think the concept of mental illness is very real, however. A mental illness, to me, is any set of thoughts, emotions, or behaviors that cause distress that is either a). very intense b). prolonged or c). bad enough to interfere with the individuals daily functioning. These criteria are still subjective...the line between mental health a sickness really is hard to define!
