I think that differs depending on who you are and what has happened, when and how etc. I'm guessing (hoping) you have a T. How are you progressing? Do you think you have progressed at all?

With flashbacks, the best thing seems to either park it in the corner of your mind and put it away until the time is right to work through it, or use grounding techniques. Check the sticky here: http://forums.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=16719

Try to avoid things that trigger flashbacks if you can. You say listening to music reminds you of events. If you know what songs and in what environment you listen to them in that causes the flashbacks, avoid those combinations.

Ask yourself the question: when does it end? Do you think it will end? What do you have to do to make that happen?
