You're not alone, Brennan. It wasn't your fault you lost your job, it's not like you decided one day, 'hey, I wanna get fired!'. Your parent's lack of understanding is hurtful, and your father's hypocrisy even more so. I am so, so sorry your parents weren't supportive on you losing your job, especially since from what I've gathered, your father lost his job as well.

I know what it's like to have your parents (father in particular) overreact and be overly disappointed or angry about something that he shouldn't be, and have high expectations.
