Therapists are only human. I know that when I start practicum in 2007, I will have a major problem blaming myself for the failure of the client to progress the way I think he/she should. It sounds like your T is doing this some too. She/he will need to work that out with someone outside of session. T's sometimes need help with their mental health too. Since the T is very open about the issue, I suspect he/she is dealing with the issue. You need to work on you and allow your T to work on him/herself. If it interferes with your relationship, feel free to bring it up.
Scondly, it sounds like you have made great progress in the past. Since you have multiple problems, it is definately a long-term arrangement. Be glad that the T recognizes that. Since the relationship is dependent on trust, a person with a trust issue may struggle in therapy. I know that I have some trust issues that will probably hurt my relationship with my T.
It sounds like you have been working hard and keep it up.
Feel free to post anytime you want. I don't have much of a support system either. So, I like psych central because it adds to that support system. Welcome to psych central!
