The pdoc who first diagnosed me at my university's clinic told me that I shouldn't be upset about the dx, because Catherine Zeta Jones has bipolar. She also kept reminding me (or herself? lol) that she was a physician. When I told her that people often return my smiles with glares (I like to smile at random strangers when I'm hypomanic...and even sometimes when I'm normal...), she scowled "aren't people horrible" under her breath. She wasn't even being sarcastic. Oh! And when I complimented her on her brightly colored skirt, she told me she was wearing it so that the dreary weather would clear out. So my pdoc was "delusional". I liked her a lot, partly because she said such wacky things. I wish that I could see her for treatment.

The pdoc I saw for a second opinion wasn't nearly as entertaining. He did express his belief that insurance companies are the root of all evil. He also told me that my "lows are really low." I thought that was very eloquent. He was a nice guy though.
Thanks for this!
