I've been following the New York revamping of Medicaid, how that might impact mental health services and how best to provide better mental health services at less cost. There are lots of issues and problems implied; one could take one of those to explore and come up with a thesis one liked?

They have recent "meeting materials" that are interesting, check out the presentation on "Serious Mental Illness". The Presenter's ideas for how to service those in New York with serious problems (and why hasn't it been done that way in the past if they're such good/correct ideas?) got me thinking about ideas of my own and whether I agreed with the experts or not, etc. Or, you could just do a whole "critique" of how they're doing the work, what's good, what's bad, what you would change? It's very timely and important.
