I always try to place my alarm (cellphone alarm) on my dresser, which is on the other side of the room, so when it goes off I am forced to get up and turn it off. This does work, it does help me get up, but if I go to bed super late and exhausted or if I go to bed thinking that I have nothing to look forward to the next day, it appears that I end up getting up while I'm asleep, turning it off and going back to bed. And those times I usually wake up lying on top of my cellphone for some reason, ha. :/
I hope you've resolved this. I've been having the same problem, although it sounds like my sleeping schedule is a lot more screwed up than yours (currently I haven't been able to fall asleep until around 3 am or even 5).
