Hi, Im a new member, though not new to ADD. I was actually diagnosed back in the mid 90's, after my teenaged son was diagnosed. I was in college at the time, having problems, mostly with getting assignments done on time, and taking tests. I got documented in school, and was put on Ritalin, which worked very well for me. I was allowed more time for tests, and some (tho not all) teachers went out their way to help. This was in NY. I moved to another state a few years later(FL), they also helped me, and again I used Ritalin. But now I live in VA. Since I didnt have insurance, I went thru a mental health services, who apparently cant give me Ritalin, and most of the ones they can, I cant handle the side effects. So Im back in college, online, and having trouble with timed tests, but cant find my papers (I think they got lost in a move.) My online school instructors cant do anything without the documentation, I cant remember where I got the testing and diagnosing done, and without insurance, cant go back on Ritalin. I dont know where to go from here. Any suggestions?
