I do e-mail my T. He has realized that writing is often an easier way for me to express myself. Most often I will tell him I don't need him to respond, I am just sharing some thoughts but he always does with-in a short period of time. Sometimes it is just a few words, other times it is more. I don't like to call him on the phone, even if it is urgent. I feel like e-mail is less interrupting to what he is doing and I know he is always on his computer if he is not with a patient.( He is semi-retired) His computer goes everywhere with him. Even when He goes on vacation, he invites me to write to him to feel more connected, though reminds me it will take a little longer to get back to me if he is off doing something.
I try to be reasonable about it all though, and at the most send one e-mail between our weekly sessions. If something came up that I felt I really need him I know it would be ok to send him another, but he is so giving of his time as it is I don't ever want to abuse it.
Thanks for this!
