I fought the med thing for years. I would not accept that I am bipolar. It got to the point that it was affecting my job and my family. Once I got into therapy, she helped me see that being bipolar was nothing to ashamed of. She helped me see that asking for help was okay, even if that meant taking meds.

My mom and two sisters are all bipolar. They are also in the medical field. They tried for years to talk me into staying on meds. I have only been on meds (steadily) for the past year. They have helped me tremendously. I still have anxiety and mild depression, but it is nothing like it used to be.
