Most of the phrases that made me grit my teeth I divorced.
My mother is wonderful and over the years has developed a vast knowledge of mental illnesses and health...so no problem there.
One she does tend to say, which makes me feel a bit guilty:
**When I was on my own I had to watch every penny.
The words I least like to hear come from acquaintances or coworkers:
1. You're too sensitive
2. You're too serious
3. I don't want to hear all the details (then don't ask me to tell about a situation because I'm all about description. That attribute also marks a good writer.

)
4. Lighten up
5. You wear your heart on your sleeve (another version of "You're too sensitive.")
At work:
1. Let's get on the same page (I'm always looking for the book...lol)
2. Here's what I have real passion around (Heard this one just this morning in a meeting. To me passion has to do with love and romance. In the business world it apparently has to do with a pet project of someone.)
3. Let's see what's driving that (Looking for a car now)
And the one that literally chills me to the bone...when my boss says:
"I need to get with you later"
