((((((((((((((Disguise))))))))))))); thank you for posting this. It is a good reminder.

I feel we should all remember to take the original poster's question, heartache, vent, etc. in mind as we post.

So often we do not heed the OP and the need the OP is feeling; we seem to go off topic and into some other discussion entirely.

This is not what PsychCentral is about. It is about addressing the OP's original question, giving support, a mere hug will suffice for many, just to know they are not alone. It is about kindness, and real feeling; helping the person posting; and not about alot of things which do not pertain to the original topic at all. All too often we give things that the OP does not want to hear, we must be more sensitive to what the OP is saying, not what we are saying. It's a bit like parenting; you want to tell the person your experience with this or that, and warn them...but they don't want that...you have to let them go their own way; just try to be there for them when they need you.

No one knows exactly what another person is feeling; I often think I do; but I am not the other person, how can I presume such a thing?

As Flooded said, it's about Respect.

Thank you for reminding me.---------------------------------pax--theo
