One of my service technicians ran into this same issue when travelling to Japan. All they do is read the pill bottles, open them to make sure all the pills are the same, and put them back in your bag.

There are more one than Customs agent when you board/land from a flight. Try to get in a different line than your co-worker so you can keep you "secret " intact.
