i've never, ever been able to understand why a "celebrity" can't have an opinion or a cause. the criticism they take because they stand up for "whatever' really puzzles me. are they not allowed to think and feel? i don't let it affect my thinking. when i make up my mind about an issue, it's my issue. not because some celebrity told me to take it up.

there are celebrities that have come forward with issues as Ms. Hatcher did and i admire all of them for it. if they help one person by telling their "secret"...then hallejuah!! my daughter was totally convinced that she could overcome heroin addiction when she went to an AA meeting in Malibu, California and saw who was there. someone really famous took her under her wing and it made all the difference in the world for her. and the celebrity never acted as if it was because she was "famous". she did it because someone else had done it for her. the meeting was crawling with "celebrities" and some of them had been way down below where my daughter had been. so, in that respect, i know it helped someone because several "famous" people showed up three times a week at an AA meeting. it helped my daughter get a better perspective on where she was and what she could do about it.

a big fat raspberry for FOX NEWS. fair and balanced, eh? xoxo pat
