copying some CD's to my computer that a friend of mine sent me when I was having trouble sleeping. Not having much else to do but wait, I started looking around at my books on a shelf in back of my monitor. Lo and behold, a tiny little green book popped out at me with the title "Believing in Ourselves." It occured to me that I've been quite short on the "believing" department, so I opened it. Hope the humor in these doesn't get past you.

Here is some of what I read:

The more independent you want to be, the more generous you must be with yourself.

We are so vain that we even care for the opinion of those we don't care for.

The thing that makes you exceptional, if you are at all, is inevitably that which must also make you lonely.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

The penalty of success is to be bored by the people who used to sub you.
