I had my second session with my image consultant on Fri. This one was on hair, makeup, and accessories. She approves of my hair just thinks I need to brush my bangs differently which although a small change did make a big difference.
Then we got to the make up question. I'm 42 - I never wear makeup never have except when I was a teen experimenting with it. See the thing is I grew up with out a mother or sisters, to show me how to do it, and I've always felt comfortable without it. So I told the consultant that there was no way I was going to start wearing foundation and stuff, but she suggested that I had really nice eyes and that a little bit of eyeliner would make them stand out more. I have really bad memories of heavy eyeliner pencils, so I said there was no way I wanted to look like a racoon. So she suggested powedered eyeliner applied with a really narrow brush.
I agreed to try it so we found an eye shadow colour that I kind of liked a sort of brownish mauve, and a medium brown eyeliner, and she did one eye then I did the other. Talk about making a huge difference, my eyes really stood out on my face and looked so much better. Then she convinced me to try lipstick which I'd sort of been thinking about anyways and we found this kind of burgundy coloured one. It looked awesome one, and again made a huge difference. It really made me look loads better and younger.
So looks like I'm giving in and joining the ranks of the make up wearing.
