Hi Haze,
I'm so sorry that you have been suffering with the panic attacks....
I hope your pdoc talk helped a little, and like Anna said I hope your therapist will be coming back soon...
I know how scary those can be and just the underlying sense of panic can be...sometimes journaling helps me a lot, especially on the computer where I can paste and cut the ideas together and get an idea what things are making me so anxious...and then try to break it down into things that are more manageable...
Sometimes my music..my calming music also helps me a lot...even if it's just while I vacuum or do something stupid for a while...to just get rid of some of the tension...
Some friends of mine also like to draw or work on some art or creative projects also to some calming music to distract them for a little while or perhaps just take a short walk just to change the scenery...
As always, your deep breathing will also help and relaxation techniques like that..muscle relaxation from toes to head very slowly...
I hope some of these might help..
Also, on supportgroups.com they have recently added a talk to a live therapist service. You have to
pay for it, but for me it worked beautifully and the therapist was able to get to the heart of the matter within probably 10 min and provide relief very quickly....and actually since she did NOT know me, the fresh angle/opinion was really nice...and she was a professional not just a trained volunteer or whatever....it's just an idea....
Maybe when your therapist comes back you can work on your own list of things you can do that might help when you get to feeling this bad...my therapist has also been out of town for the past 2 weeks and it HAS been very panicky for me too...
Take care and know that we are all here for you if you just need to vent or cry out a little in frustration..I'm sure most of us can relate and understand your pain and struggles. I think personally, that's the beauty of the friendships here....
I'm attaching a nice soothing picture of a night moon sky hoping that it might relax you and let your imagination take you to dreamland for a little while someplace safe and serene...
Take care, soothing huggles, and hope to hear from you again soon...
