setmefree, you are already on the road to freedom being sober. in early sobriety some ppl find a reason to drink cause life takes a u-turn. when newly sober we are starting to feel emotions and they can seem intense at first. while drinking we numbed our emotions. we drank to drink our problems away. but accepting life on life's terms is the key. there will be joy and sorrow. drinking tho is not an option anymore if we want a better life for ourselves.
as for wanting to drink...there will come a time when you don't even think of a drink. the compulsion and obsession will lift. take it one day at a time. get busy with something. don't romance the drink. look where it took you instead.
you will find a new joy and happiness staying sober. i did many years ago. contentment still abounds my life.
call me happy, joyous and FREE!!!!
