Has anyone ever browsed through profiles of those who have passed? Have you ever read the last words they wrote on them? Even more eerily, the profiles of those who have committed suicide? The other day, I talked briefly to the family of a 16 year old that had committed suicide two years ago. It just happened to be the day after the anniversary of his death. I remember the incident when it happened, because my nephew had known him and I remember seeing that person about a month before it happened. His Myspace page is still active and people continue to leave comments on it about how they miss him. I always find it eerie to look at the last log in date, knowing it was only a day or moments before that person was last alive in this physical world. I find it even more eerie to read those last words that they wanted everyone to see. What is so sad is it looks as though he was trying to reach out for help, but no one was available or didn't take him seriously. It made me reevaluate my own actions and how often I overlook so many things in life. With all of the stresses, worries, and the fast-paced lifestyle that is placed on us in order to get ahead, we often overlook what I believe is the most important thing in life and that is life itself. Rather than embracing each other, so many of us are losing those important bonds that make life worth living.
Thanks for this!
