I drink way too much caffeine. But I cant function without it. I think its more related to depression. I am afraid to go to sleep.
I have had a pattern of being terrified to sleep, so I am not well rested, so I drink tons of caffeine during the day to manage. Then I am terrified to sleep again at night, plus the caffeine is adding to it, so I don't sleep well, so I need caffeine the next day to function...ad nauseum. It's a vicious circle.

What worked for me was finally processing things in therapy. I know you are working on finding the right fit in your therapy. Personally, I needed prescription medication to help improve my sleep (it is non-addicting). But for many people, just being able to process things with T can significantly improve sleep problems.

I am glad you finally have insurance! It never hurts to get checked out. You might tell the doctor about the sleeping fears as well.
