Bless your heart !! You have been thru hell. My heart hurts for you. I must say that Nick is really something -- exactly WHAT, I haven't figured out yet.
There must be some shelters somewhere near where you live. It would be worth it to take your kids and leave, and live for awhile in a shelter! The kids will be happier once they're away from Nick -- kids KNOW when a parent is upset, worried, hurt -- I'm sure they know that you aren't happy. Once you ALL get away from Nick, all of you will feel much better -- kids would rather live in a happy environment than with a parent (Nick) who doesn't give a darn.
I know you're reluctant to try it again -- but if you go to a shelter where you live, you shouldn't have any of the problems you did up north. You just need to get rid of Nick -- he is poison. He's taking your self-esteem and stomping it right into the ground. Do something for you and the kids -- get out!!!
