I understand your feelings. However, I try to remind myself that I do not need another person to have meaning in my life. Rather, I must find my own path and if I get to share it with another - great - if not, it is still good for me to be on this earth if I use my time/skills for some good. Other people do not create our meaning, no matter how very opposite that can feel to us.
