yes there are therapists here at psych central. if you look at the bottom of the forum boards page you will find forums for those mental health providers that are here on psych central. there are also social groups here on psych central for therapists and other mental health providers.

plus many mental health providers start out with having problems of their own and through their own work on their self decide to go into the mental health field. there are many of these such members here that have made that decision.

Some psych central members come here because their own therapists and other treatment providers have recommended psych central to their clients, in order to recommend psych central to their clients the treatment providers must have heard about this place and visit the place to see what its like. I cant see any ethical treatment provider recommending for their clients something they havent checked out and been a part of.

my therapist recommended this place to me and does frequent the site.

I am a therapist and Im here when I can be.

I have gone to workshops and seminars for mental health providers including therapists and this site has been recommended by the speakers, and other fellow therapists and other treatment providers.

I have also recommended this place to my fellow co workers at the crisis center and city hospital and know that some of these mental health providers come here and to the forums set up for mental health providers on the forum page.

we therapists are here. Some like me have chosen to participate here without hiding our professions and some dont disclose their professions, just like a majority of the non mental providers members I know here dont disclose their work, career labels.

whether or not we disclose our professions is a personal choice but we are here.

speaking for myself I came here on the recommendation of my therapist in hopes of finding others in the integration process with DID and when I did not find what I was looking for and at the urging of some members here I stay to help others through where I have already been, like the saying goes - helping others most times ends up helping ones self.

I do also recommend this place for my clients.

also if you look in the forums where you can read the rules and ask questions about the site you will find some informative threads that explain psych central is open to the public and is searchable with google. that right there tells me it doesnt matter what the profession, problem, level of education, race religion what have you, everyone is welcome at psych central. to me that includes mental health providers.

there are all kinds of people here from all walks of life and mental disorder, race, religion, handicap, and profession......

my opinion the real world off line could learn a thing or two from psych central about how to get along in a world of such diversity.

Thanks for this!
