psych central is a mental health website. it stands to reason on a mental health website you are going to find mental health providers as a part of the membership.

if I remember right it is in the registration information and in the forum policy that psych central is a mental health website and open to everyone.

this topic of mental health providers being here on psych central comes up frequently either because

someone discovers their own therapist, Pdoc and their other mental health providers here,

When someone realizes some of the membership names have the words "doc" "Doctor" "Dr' "Pdoc" "T" "Therapist" "Counselor" and others designating they are mental health providers..

when Someone asks about therapraxis and the other boards that are for mental health providers..

when Someone discovers there is a forum board designated as DocClydes forum board where members can get answers from a mental health provider..

when Someone discovers they can enter the "ask a therapist" page and submit questions to therapists and other mental health providers

and even when someone finds my posts where I am open about my being a therapist and why I am here..

All these and many more discussions like this has been going on here at psych central boards for .. well Ive been here now for little over 2 years and there are posts I have found discussing these things dating back farther than that.

each time these discussions come up the moderators and administrators admit psych central is open to all people including these we may fear or not want here reading and participating in psych central. To be sure to protect yourselves by changing your passwords, choosing names for your selves that will protect your identities and dont post anything you dont feel comfortable about posting, in case someone you know finds psych central.

if you need a new name you can pm the moderators and the administrators. they will help you get a name to protect your identities. they can also delete any postings you may have made that will give away your psych central identity to people you dont want to discover you here like your family, friends and treatment providers.
