Don't worry, Hydrophobic. You can never post too many topics! Many of us have a lot of individual issues that need answers. In response to your question......

For what it's worth, I remember going through long stretches of feeling that way too. I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 late in life. I went from "through the roof" mania, then swung to depression; and then, fell into an even deeper depression. I couldn't cry. I couldn't do anything. I was just flat........I had no visible reaction to anything. And, yes, I do remember wanting and expecting to cry.......but it never happened. Not until relatively recently. Now because of my circumstances, and the circumstances of family members around me, I struggle not to cry. If I do give in to it, I'll never stop.

I can't answer the question.....Is it a popular thing with Bipolar? But I'm guessing it is when someone is really depressed. If you're not talking to a therapist, you may want to consider it. You could be guided along, given suggestions......and possibly be put on an antidepressant.

Good luck to you in finding your answer......mine may be the exception, rather than the rule. Take care of yourself. All my best........grey
