I have taken Wellbutrin SR for a couple of years for ADHD. I have done very well on it. I started on 75, then went to 150, then went to 300 mg. I had some jitters at each increase but they went away after a few days as my body got used to it. It didn't help enough with the ADHD so now I take Vyvanse also and only 150 mg Wellbutrin. This combination works well for me.
Wellbutrin is activating, so some people with Anxiety have found that it makes them more anxious and they can't tolerate it. I don't have anxiety and it has been fine for me.
The seizure risk is at higher doses, like 450 mg. My understanding is that the standard dose for depression, 300 mg, does not have an increased risk for seizures, unless you already have a seizure disorder.
Just one of the generics was associated with ineffectiveness. My PNP knows which one it is and she had it written into my prescription that any generic (bupropion) was OK to give me, except for the version made by this one company. So I have gotten it from several different companies and they have all been fine.
My only side effect was a tremor in my hands at 300 mg. It was tolerable and my PNP didn't seem concerned. When I went back down to 150 mg, the tremor went away.
