I went through this in New Jersey. The temporary restraining order had a list the officer checked off. Then when I went to court, the judge finalized things. I was able to make sure he couldn't contact me in any way, nor could his friends contact me in any way that was threatening. The problem was that the town police didn't see things the way I did. I was planning on moving to Arkansas anyway so I just did it sooner.

There should be support groups in your area and there may even be legal advice for free. It all depends on what state and county you live in. I hope you find peace and security in your day to day life. It's not easy!
