((ForeverAloneGuy)) - I used to have significant dental anxiety because of 2 bad experiences when I was 5 and 17. The good news is, I no longer have this anxiety. Dentists have come a long way and they now can make extractions etc, pain free. Most people don't need their wisdom teeth and most of the time they cause problems. Chances are you do have this wisdom tooth and I think its safe to trust your dentists information. Usually people go to an oral surgeon for wisdom tooth extractions and often they use stitches so you don't bleed. If you do go, make sure you tell them you had a history of bleeding and don't take aspirin 2 weeks before.
One mistake I made was letting my dentist pull one of mine when I was 17 but I should have been sent to an oral surgeon because the root was curved - impacted tooth. He was an idiot and the whole experience was long and painful - this is one of the negative experiences I had. If I had the choice again -I advise to get all 4 out in an oral surgeons office, where they use anesthetic and you're totally sleeping - this is the easiest way, rather than doing one at a time. You eat soft food for 2 days and then you're fine.
Now a days, dentists are very familiar with dental anxiety and you can find dentists who specialize in this. Its better to learn how to control the fear, instead of talking yourself out of taking care of your teeth. You have the choice of requesting to have an oral surgeon do this, where they'll use anesthetic. I no longer shake like a leaf on a windy day while I'm sitting in the dentists chair.
