I'm having all kinds of tests in preparation for thyroid surgery. Last week I saw an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist for symptoms somewhat like you described and he suggested it might be acid reflux. It could be - I've been so stressed out worrying about the surgery, I can see where it's a possibility. The pain kinda' stretches toward my right lung and hurts when I take a deep breath.

If your symptoms don't resolve themselves before too long, I'd recommend checking with your doctor.

For acid reflux, my doctor recommended Prilosex OTC - it was app. $18 at WalMart.
