I started to heal from this very issue in the therapy process with my therapist.
It's scary and hard work but it is worth it. Just yesterday, when I was triggered by something my T said, I really had to fight not thinking, "What if she kicks me out of therapy just like my father kicked me out of the house" - my emotions were all over the place. I just kept saying, "She is not my father" and I asked her to support me through it. We are here for you!
