I've been through this situation too. My twin brother left for Marine boot and he sent all of our letters in the same envelope to save postage and push-ups. My step mom read all of our letters and didn't even feel bad. I was kind of angry about that because my brother and I share thoughts and such that we'd rather other people not know. But I understood that she missed him and just wanted to know everything she possibly could. I know the feeling of just seeing a hand written letter from your soldier/marine and seeing paper they held, how precious it is. You will be forgiven, but you need to forgive yourself as well.
