I was very anti meds when I first went on them more than 10 years ago, and then they started working, and they really improved my life. I'm still on them. I have to admit I don't like the idea of needing meds to feel good, and some of them have side effects that I don't like, but on balance I'd rather take them, deal with the side effects, and be well enough to work on my issues in therapy. I do have a goal of getting off meds someday - who knows if it's realistic - I recently tried to reduce the dose of the med with the most annoying side effect, and my mood immediately began to slip, so it looks like I'll be on them for a while.
