That doesn't make you a failure. It's just looking at the reality of the situation you found yourself in, and making a good decision. After having a position that I loved for 17 years, I have had a heck of a time the last four years finding a new niche. Quitting is just the best alternative sometimes. No matter how much you know it is the right decision, it does not always feels good, as you sort through the pieces of the wreck. Because you have made a good decision, you have protected your husband from having to come identify your body in some senseless vehicle accident.

Did you hear about the tour bus that went off a cliff -- I think it was in Mexico. Driving under the conditions you described was an accident waiting to happen. Good for you for bailing!! Do you think the moose was as scared as you were?
