Roadrunnerbeepbeep,
I never said "all" men and it certainly was not necessary to attack my position. Reread my post and you will not see the word "all" anywhere in it.
I was not trying to defend men or put down women, and I am not sure how you came to that conclusion. This disease affects both genders. I just wanted to point out that there are many of us who support our spouses and try to help, knowing that while it is hard living with a bipolar spouse, it is even harder being the bipolar spouse.
Ryask,
I am sorry your husband treated you like this. Before I fully understood BP, I took my wifes attacks on me as just that- attacks on me. It is hard to seperate the bp from the person, and he may be fighting back in the only way he knows how. After all, you told him you hate him, and he may not know how to deal with that. I am not excusing his actions, just saying that he just may be at the end of his rope and he needs just as much help as you do in dealing with BP. I hope you can get him to attend some therapy with you so that he can come to an understanding of BP and learn how to seperate the disorder from the person.
