I'm not sure about any quick happy fix but I would suggest using distractions for now. Take your mind off it as much as you can by doing things that you would normally enjoy, listen to music, do some writing, anything to take the focus off the sadness. It is good that you have a doctor's appointment, hopefully they will point you in the right direction for talking therapy and medication if needed. Take care of you.
