The act of "intention" can help you with that. By consciously thinking ---intending-- you can change the current paths of your unconscious.

So, for instance, you consciously intend to not allow the past experiences to bother you. One of the ways I find this works is by using that intention (verbalizing it) and then reminding yourself that this is now and that was then. It isn't happening now. It's in the past.

Good wishes! Remember to give yourself time. Repetition is how your bad habits were formed, and it's how you can correct them.
