That is awful!!! Do you know how they stole them?

The law and regulations could be different in England. I use debit cards at my bank instead of credit cards. Credit cards are supposed to be safer, but I'm not going to risk getting deep into debt again.

I had a long talk with one of the bank officers about debit cards. She assured me that if I reported the theft as soon as possible I would only be liable for a max of $50.00.

Also, I bank at a "free checking" place. Bank manager says what a lot of people do is open two accounts and keep the debit card for the main money at home. Then estimate what I'll need for the day, transfer that amount into my "spending account" and JUST carry that card, so if thieves steal it, they will have very little $ to steal.

I also use this when ordering off the net.
